Chatham Artists Guild Welcomes 15 New Members
Chatham Artists Guild is pleased to introduce the newest members juried into the Guild in 2018. We welcome Andrew Wilson, Bronwyn Watson, Gina Harrison, Heather Gerni, Kimberly Campbell, Julie Uhler, Rhonda Weaver-Brand, Lauren deSerresSelden Lamoureux, Linda Collura, Lee Kazanas, Mathew Leavitt, Leslie Palmer, Craig Greiner, and Yvette Poole.

"I am one of three jurors... Artists, please look at the photo you are sending!!! Is it in focus? Is there a light reflecting off the surface? Are the colors washed out? There are a lot of entries. I am going to choose the art with qualities I can see instead of the qualities I think MIGHT be in your bad photo."

Kim Werfel Pastel Painting Classes
Seymour Senior Center, 2551 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill
Mondays April 9 to May 7, five weeks from 1-3pm
Mondays May 14 to June 11, five weeks from 1-3pm
Guild member Kim Werfel will teach two ongoing Pastel Studio Classes at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill. Students work at their own pace and level from photos with assistance. Drawing and color theory, as well as pastel techniques, help guide students in learning this medium.

Cathylee Mahin at “Hats Off to Mad Hatters” Fundraiser for TABLE
Calico Studio
1141 Smith Level Road, Chapel Hill
Saturday April 14, 10am-2pm
Guild artist Cat Mahin will participate in "Hats Off to Mad Hatters", an open studio and fundraising event at the Calico Studio. Please join the creative madness, sharing tea and crumpets while making whimsical hats and having fun! A suggested donation of $25 and/or bags of beans, rice, individual prepackaged pretzels, whole grain Goldfish, or raisins would be greatly appreciated.
 

Donations collected will go to TABLE, a non-profit organization that provides healthy, emergency food aid to hungry Chapel Hill and Carrboro children.

Guild Artists Participate in Fearrington Artists Open Studio Tour
Fearrington Village, off 15-501, 8 miles south of Chapel Hill
Saturday April 14 from 10am- 5pm, Sunday April 15 from 12-5pm
Guild artists will participate in the Artist Studios at Fearrington Village Fourth Annual Open Studio Tour on Saturday April 14, and Sunday April 15. A preview of Tour artists’ work is on exhibit through April at the Gathering Place in Fearrington Village. Vidabeth Bensen’s Studio, House of Life Prints, will be #9 on the Fearrington Artists Studio Tour. Original framed and unframed hand pulled screen prints, cards, T shirts, and 2018 calendars will be available. 


 Forrest Greenslade Painting at John James Audubon Center

April 14 to April 28
Forrest Greenslade has a painting juried into “Drawn From Nature”, the Audubon Society show in its national center in Pennsylvania. Vidabeth Bensen at Bynum Bridge Fest

Emily Merletto Watercolors at Blue Dot Coffee

Emily Merletto will showcase her watercolor paintings at Blue Dot Coffee in downtown Pittsboro. Come to a small reception during the First Sunday Street Fair on May 6, and visit Blue Dot Café through May and June to see the paintings.
