Happy Spring Everyone,
I am so happy Winter is finally over and that we are all thinking of Spring and warmer weather. As we transition to a new season, PHP is also preparing to transition to a new and improved look. We want our image to reflect the energy, enthusiasm and promise of our future. We currently have over 800 members and we are so very thankful that you are trusting us with your overall care. We are a stronger plan today and I know that “We can do Better Together.”

PHP is embarking upon its third year of operation and we continue to implement new and exciting programs that focus on providing the best possible care to our valued members. We believe it is important to continue to improve what we do and our member’s feedback is essential. You will receive a brief member satisfaction survey in the mail shortly. We ask that you and/or your representative take the time to give us feedback so that we can support you better.
Over the last two years, we have been busy developing and implementing new programs that promote more independence and improved quality of care for our members. PHP represents “People Helping People!” Our organization continues to strive to fulfill the mission of its founders by maintaining our commitment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
I know that individuals are being asked to make many choices as things are changing quickly around you and it can be very confusing. PHP is here to serve and our members do not have to worry or do anything. Please reach out to PHP if you have any questions.
As we reflect on our 2nd Anniversary, we have overcome some challenges, grown in numbers and innovation, improved health outcomes of members, and remain committed to supporting you to live a better life!
We look forward to Spring and to working with our members, representatives, providers, and stakeholders to ensure that PHP will be the Best and Most Favored health insurance plan for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“I joined Partners Health Plan in November 1st, 2017. My main reason for joining was because I heard you can obtain durable medical equipment (DME) much faster on this plan than Medicaid. My experience with Medicaid is that it can take a very long time to get repairs done and equipment ordered. As I am sure you can imagine, as a person with quadriplegia I use a great deal of durable medical equipment. I needed to have my wheelchair and communication device fixed. I am completely dependent on these two devices to function and maintain my current independent lifestyle. The quicker the repair, the better the quality of my life. Eventually, I might need a new back brace, and it is a relief to know that it will come more quickly than in the past. Medicaid alone can be very frustrating for those of us with severe developmental disabilities. DME allows us to remain in the community where we belong, be more independent, and direct the care we do need. PHP seems to be the answer to our problems. It is hard to make a change, but I do think I will get the help I need with PHP. I hope new people will also try Partners Health Plan.”

Kenneth & Dolores
Kenny’s mom, Dolores, enrolled him with Partners Health Plan because she wanted help coordinating and managing Kenny’s services. Dolores heard about the program from ADAPT Community Network, a PHP sponsor and partner, and she liked PHP so much that she waited two months to make sure that Kenny could keep the same home attendant. Dolores appreciates the additional support that PHP offers. Kenny uses a wheelchair, lives at home, and has lots of appointments, all of which require transportation.
While he doesn’t look it, Kenny is in his 60’s. He is a very positive individual and is quite the fitness buff. It is not uncommon to see Kenny on his porch in the warm weather doing pushups off the railing or working out with his exercise bands. He enjoys putting puzzles together, baseball caps, and track suits. His hat collection is impressive, and he even has a few PHP hats in the mix! He has a lot of friends and travels often for programs and socially.
Both Kenny and his mom are extremely happy with their care team and the services that they receive from PHP. They like Partners Health Plan so much they have done a Social Media video to help promote PHP. Follow Partners Health Plan on Facebook and Linked In for the upcoming video featuring a look into Kenny’s lifestyle, including his motivational workout routine. When it comes to his perseverance and healthy lifestyle, he is an excellent example for both able and disabled individuals to stay positive and driven.
