Practical Courses in Full Swing
Dear Friends ~
The hammers are swinging and the lightbulbs are flashing! Not just with good ideas, but with the actual construction of real circuit boards in the new electrics course. The highlight of our term this year is the electrics class, and so far our teacher, Abel, is enjoying the process as are the students - it's an electrifying program. The mains at the school are being tripped fewer and fewer times per week as the course goes on, and soon they will be ready to graduate!

The carpenters are also coming along very nicely. One has set up a very nice corner office for himself and  they are all busy assembling their tool boxes. The smell of wood shavings and sounds of sawing and planing give a satisfying feeling as the Vocational Centre is once again a hive of activity.

He Has Risen Indeed!

Celebrating a traditional Passover on Good Friday evening with flatbread, bitter herbs and a sacrificed goat is always a highlight of Easter weekend as we fellowship together. The students did a great drama of Moses and the Hebrews leaving Pharaoh and Egypt behind. Resurrection Sunday was also special as we went to church in Muzuane with students and team.

Easter weekend was especially busy for us as we celebrated Ashira's 11th birthday ~ lots of fun and games and friends and food - we are so proud of her!
Mozambican Women's Day
The women are being raised up like never before in Africa - they are hard workers and have the best interests of their families at heart. Women are being strengthen and men are being taught how to appreciate the helpmeet that God created for them! This term we have our first female practical student at the Vocational Centre - Madalena is taking the electrics course. Many women have been trained in the business and farming courses, but Madalena is our first participant in a practical course at the Vocational Centre. She is married to Agostinho, director of the Nacala Bible School, and enjoying her empowerment!

This year for the National Women's Day, the ladies directed our weekend church service at the school - worshipping and sharing the story of the ten bridesmaids who waited for the bridegroom. A lovely drama, and a valuable life lesson. Which side of the door are you on?

Friends and neighbours worked with us to arrange a self-defence morning where our staff and students could all come together for a few practical tips in self defence! Petty theft is rife here, and as these ladies walk to and from work, there have been too many instances of assault and theft. With the theme of 'Equip and Inspire,' all the women left encouraged and full of confidence. Cake and tea was an added bonus!
Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you next month! Thank you for your love, prayers and support.

Together for his glory
