We're pleased to let you know that we've been awarded $10,000 for operational expenses from the Department of Internal Affairs Lottery Funding. This puts the society in a better financial position, although we are still actively seeking further long-term operational funding to support current activities and grow the organisation. We have also been awarded $2,000 by the local Creative Communities Funding Scheme which will go toward SwampFest 2018 and the 30th Year celebration shows in October. Cheers you lot! 

While we're on that note, the Palmerston North City Council is now seeking submissions from the public on their long-term (10 year) plan. We've been petitioning PNCC for additional operating funding to cover the decreasing real world value of our current funding. As it stands, we receive $75,000pa from PNCC to deliver services. However since the year 2000 inflation has effectively decreased the value of our funding by around 40%. Meanwhile we have worked actively to find alternative sources of funding while remaining committed to maintaining affordable prices for the community. Thats were you all step in! 

This fortnight you can make a written submission to PNCC in support of The Stomach receiving additional funding. The form is available online, and you can fill out as much or as little as you'd like, every submission is considered. Just follow the link in the blue box below to support The Stomach! We're hoping to put in a large body of submissions to make sure that our concerns are heard. Thanks in advance for your time.
