Australian composers and performers will be celebrated this week at the APRA Music Awards. This special evening celebrates Australian music at its best. Nominated works and artists will come together to acknowledge and showcase the outstanding efforts of Australian musicians, composers, bands and artists, celebrating the musical contributions they give to our communities.
Music Australia gives whole hearted congratulations to all nominees and winners this year and we look forward to many more outstanding achievements and fabulous performances from members of our music industry.
Our E-News will take a break next fortnight, but stay tuned for a bumper edition on 10 May.

The Orange Regional Conservatorium is seeking an expression of interest for the role of Singing Teacher, to join their expanding and dynamic vocal team. It is essential that the applicant have a Bachelor of Music or Bachelor Music Education (or minimum 5 year industry experience) and have a contemporary music focus. Piano keyboard skills and a willingness to work in schools are desirable. This is a casual position with potential to become permanent. The Northern Territory (NT) Music School provides instrumental, ensemble and choral tuition as well as music education services, support, events and programs in NT Government Schools. They are seeking a fully qualified, registered teacher to join their Alice Springs team. Their Alice Springs office services the Barkly and Central school regions. Key programs include a significant choral support program as well as instrumental ensemble programs. This position will involve travel throughout the area and teaching music in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and remote community schools. The position is commencing ASAP and is fixed term until January 2020.

Music Industry Harassment Research Survey
Australian musician, author and researcher Jeff Crabtree is currently gathering new research on harassment in the music industry. All music industry professionals are encouraged to participate in this survey which is approved by the UTS department of Human Ethics and Research Integrity. Data collected from the surveys will be used as credible basis for informed decision making and policy making.
