Join us for a day of learning and networking as we explore how to improve and maintain our connections to the earth. How can we support food security, locally and globally?
This event is suitable for anyone wanting to live more sustainably by growing, harvesting and preserving their own food.
Join us for the day or for a 1/2 day morning or afternoon.
AM Sessions
Garden Wisdom from our elders—
Steve Hoepfner native plants for biodiversity, which seeds to save, when to save and how to store.
Kimchi and preserving—
Belinda Brown will share her knowledge of different ways of preserving in an interactive session with opportunity to share with others and try some simple preserving.
PM sessions
Falling in love with your soil —Gardening Australia’s Sophie Thomson
Bees wax wraps– hands on workshop where you will create and take home a sustainable alternative to plastic wrap for food storage
Please note: EESSA Inc will provide Fair Trade tea, coffee and water on the day and fruit for morning tea. Bring your own litter free lunch and books, produce, plants or other small items for the swap table.
