Special Topic: Lifelong Learning

And again it is time to start something new! As announced in our fall Newsletters, we want to create a overall topic for our activities at AAA. This year we want to lay the focus on the aspects of Lifelong Learning, which in turn is a part of one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals: ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’ (SDG N°4).

Now we start publishing a series of related articles in our newsletter as well as on our Facebook Group/Page and Homepage. We kick-start with the three articles below and will publish one article per week. The purpose is to inform our alumni community about latest trends and research on a topic that we consider should be of interest to a broad audience. In different ways, e.g. our Alumnites or on Facebook, it will also be possible to enter into a discussion on these viewpoints and what quality education means for everybody personally and their environment, like their kids and family.

We hope you will appreciate the idea and the articles and will share your insights and opinions with us. Enjoy the reading!

Time to say goodbye

"Hello dear AIESEC Austria alumni and friends,

After one and a half years of writing monthly and quarterly newsletters to the alumni community my involvement at AIESEC Alumni Austria is ending. The working life started for me and I moved back to the North of Germany.

Thank you to everyone, that I had the pleasure to work with and who supported me in this time! I wish the executive board and everyone being actively and passively involved in the alumni community all the best. Let us keep the AIESEC spirit on!"

Lieva Wirnsperger

We are very grateful to Lieva for her engagement in the association in the past years! We wish her all the best for the future and hope to meet her again soon anywhere in the world!

AIESEC YouthSpeak Forum 2018

On March 9th 2018 AIESEC in Austria organized a national YouthSpeak Forum for the third time. The aim of the YouthSpeak Forum is to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among Austrian youth and to inspire and engage them to take action towards a more sustainable future. The forum, therefore, brings together Austrian youth with corporates, NGOs and governmental organizations to discuss the SDGs and to take action together towards achieving the SDGs.

The MC is very happy that this year's YouthSpeak Forum was well visited by 245 delegates and supported by 16 partner organisations. The collaboration with UNIDO made it possible to have the United Nations Headquarter in Vienna as the event venue. As an outcome of the forum, the delegates came up with 228 actionable ideas and the best projects received awards from SAP and WWF and will be supported with workshops and coaching sessions to continue working on the projects.
