Rustenburg named TOP PUBLIC SCHOOL in South Africa
Rustenburg walked away with GOLD at the National Education Excellence Awards 2018 based on our matric results.
Congratulations to the Matrics of 2017, all staff and parents!
Dear Parents, Teachers and Learners

I am very happy to announce the newly elected Governing Body of this great school, who will be serving your interests for the next three-year term.

Before I do, I would like to recognise those parents who gave up their time to come along to the election on both evenings to propose and vote parents into service. Thank you very much. For some reason, it is always difficult to get a quorum at schools for this very important process and we will need to find an innovative solution to this problem so as to honour people’s time AND achieve a quorum.

I must also thank the parents, learners and teachers who have served the school over the last SGB term, and specifically, thank Dominique Malherbe and Leon Moser who are outgoing parents. Their dedication, time and service to the school is really appreciated.

Then, to the parents who have made themselves available: Yagyah Adams, Russel Edwards, Sean McGuinness, Wendy Newton-Wheeler, Alistair Noyce and Steven Schaefer, the educator representatives Olivia Herrendoefer and Susan Schnetler, non-educator representative Nolundi Blayi; learners Zahra Mohamed and Bethany Rumble and co-opted members, Graeme Broster, Jacqueline Samson and Gillian Blackshaw, congratulations on your election.

Our job as the Governing Body is to promote the well-being and efficiency of the school environment, making sure that vision, policies and codes are in place so that the campus is effective in delivering quality education to our daughters.  This is essential if we are to enable them to realize the future that they desire and to play a meaningful part in the future of our society.

We will serve this school with integrity and dedication, always ensuring that we maintain and grow the excellence of the brand that has been built by those before us.

Regards

Alan Winde
SGB Chairman

Four of our Saxophone students, Caroline Schreiber, Tenille Cannon, Kate Birch, and Georgia New attended a Workshop held by New York Based Saxophonist Morris Goldberg at SACM, UCT on the 27th March. They had the opportunity to discuss and listen to his career stories, from growing up in Cape Town to playing with Jazz giants such as Hugh Masekela in New York where he ended up staying. The workshop ended with the masterclass playing one of his compositions and an opportunity to improvise, where he provided feedback on technique and creativity.
