2018 is well underway....

'Well' being the operative word!

We started the year with regular maintenance mixed with an early season RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster theory course to kick off the instruction. This classroom course was fully subscribed and so well found that we have conducted several more and are sure to run more later in the year. November is looking favourable which gives you the idea that you need to register your interest early.

5 day courses have been running back to back now for the last 4 months. Recently we had a slight change as Rob went all out in training instructors before the RYA joined us for a 5 day Yachtmaster Instructor course. The result was predictably great and means that we have more YMI's available to us now to help us deliver better coaching all round.

Our Power Boat 2 courses have also been run regularly through the winter and, driven by demand, we are adding Advanced Power Boat training to the courses that we can offer.

Upwards on all fronts!

Huge thanks to everybody who has followed us from the beginning and of course to our new followers too. Although we don't use FaceBook for advertising, it is a useful way for us to show you what we have been up to and what we are planning. If there is anything specific you would like us to include please let us know.

Tripadvisor continues to blow us away with an extremely enviable review rate. 125 five* reviews and just 1 four* review. Just yesterday we were awarded a Certificate Of Excellence for 2018. Thanks to everybody who has taken the time to post a review.

General Data Protection Regulation
As we all know, GDPR is being introduced on the 25th May. We wanted to reassure you that we won't be changing the way we already collect or use your personal data. It will be stored to meet the new regulations and we also promise that we have never and will never sell or pass on your data; we protect it like it's our own! We do need to share some information with the RYA (when registering certificates etc) and also our instructors (health matters, allergies, dietary restrictions etc) but rest assured this will be kept to an absolute minimum and only as our business demands.

If you do not wish to hear from us anymore then you can unsubscribe easily at the bottom of any of our newsletters.

And finally the part that many of you have been waiting for - our race options....

Xenia (the X-43) is now firmly in the fleet and family. Her entire wardrobe of new carbon race sails are here including a Code Zero and she is raring to go!

We have already filled several of the years events but there are still 1 or 2 places available amongst the following options -

From the 12th July we are arranging a combined training and race package. There will be 2 days of race training locally, followed by a race program. On Friday evening we take part in the Prologue race in Lagos (round-the-cans). On Saturday morning the 100Nm Coastal race from Lagos to Palos will start. There are great social events before and after the racing.

From the 1st August we have another training/race package in the Spanish Rias. 2 days of training will be followed by us taking part in the 'Regata Ruta de Las Islas' hosted by Sanxenxo Yacht Club (think Mapfre, VOR) in the Spanish Rias. The whole event is situated in the most beautiful sailing ground and a fantastic annual race event where we will be properly out-numbered by local Spanish sailors.

From the 15th October we are in training again but this time getting ready for the years spectacle race. 2 days of training will lead on to our first race. The 17th October is the Coastal Race - a day long race acting as a bit of a shake down event. Time to take stock, repair and re-group and then on the 20th October we enter the famous Rolex Middle Sea Race which starts from Grand Harbour in Malta. A 600Nm offshore race that takes in the spectacular scenery of Malta, the Messines straits, Mt Etna, Stromboli and much more! Our final and most prestigious event of the year.

We will also be offering mileage trips to get Xenia to and from Malta before and after the event. Both trips will have a YM Instructor on board and we will therefore ensure that they are great and valuable experience with the possibility to gain significant miles and skippered passages. Ideal to gain experience or go towards your Yachtmaster qualification perhaps.

Once again we thank you all for supporting us throughout our time here!
