In Leadville, April Showers often bring waves of wet, heavy snow...

But I won't complain. Really, I won't, because the east coast stole all our snow this winter season, and I don't want our county (or anyone else's) to burn down!

With today's local and global turmoil--from environmental to political--I humbly suggest that we all remember to be grateful each morning we rise for the people and things in our lives that are good.

UPCOMING EVENTS! (good things!)
  • April 28, 2-4 p.m., come celebrate Independent Bookstore Day at Next Page Books and Nosh in Frisco! Several local authors will be available for chatting and book signing! Don't miss out on the fun, and if you can't make it to Frisco, please support your local indie bookstore!
  • June 15-17, Denver Comic Con! I will have a table there with all of my work and fun prizes! Diane Smith will assist me for the weekend and will also have her premiere novel: Seeing With Your Eyes Closed available (watch for it on Amazon the end of this month)! I'll also be moderating several guest author panels over the weekend and am excited about the opportunity to mingle with many fascinating creators.
  • Starting TODAY! Leadville's historic Tabor Opera House has a new online look with events loaded for the 2018 season. Become a Friend of the Tabor and check out all of the wonderful ways you can participate this year.

AUTHOR NEWS!
  • Cassy Huidobro is a brand new author and vlogger (a video blogger on YouTube). Watch her powerful TEDx talk Dissolve the Lines and check out her book is anyone else feeling the same way?, an engaging memoir about her spiritual journey.
  • Ann Parker's SIXTH book in the Silver Rush Mysteries Series--A Dying Note--is available now. I'm hoping to have some time this summer (time? what's that?) to catch up with her original characters and meet some new ones!
  • Carol Bellhouse has released her latest YA novel: Storm Tunnel, “A tale of heart-rending adventure and science fiction.”  Check it out, along with her many other titles!
  • I'm working on the last book in the Waterwight Series, which has earned some wonderful recognition! See why three Readers' Favorite readers gave Book I five stars, and what Kirkus Reviews has to say about Waterwight Flux! "Toot toot!" (that's me, tooting my own horn ;-) )

My weekly podcast Alligator Preserves is going strong! I have new episodes on The Holocaust, the Bataan Memorial Death March, and for lighter fare, the time I cleaned my son's apartment (*shivers*!), and my latest episode: Kisses, Cooties, and Other Scary Things (a tell-all, of sorts)! Tomorrow I'll air my 15th episode. Check out what two sisters tell me about their experiences with the Japanese practice of Reiki.

I've also recorded two short stories I've written, and if you'd like to hear them--and one new story per month (for as long as I can produce them!)--I humbly ask for your $3/month patronage on Patreon. It's easy and painless to become a patron, and I will love you forever. I'll love you forever regardless, but I'll love you with bonus stories each month if you become my patron.

:)

The podcast link above is brought to you by ME! Please share it with anyone you think might enjoy what I offer each week, and I hope you will consider becoming my patron. Find out how--and what rewards you will earn for being my patron--HERE! Spoiler alert: Patrons of $3/month or more will have exclusive access to a new short story I'll write and narrate every month! It'll be like buying me one gluten free brownie every month, but you won't have to deliver it (or watch me eat it)!
Do yo have a book you'd like to submit for the possibility of a prestigious award? Check out the information for this year's CIPA EVVY Awards.  May 19th is the last day to get your books to the judges, so don't delay...and good luck!

Be kind to yourself.
