The Wheels on the Bike

Go round and round

We're on the road again, this time to Bicycle Craft Brewers (850 Industrial Ave, Unit 12) in the East end, near the Trainyards. Originally I had planned for a set of songs about dancing, but when the venue fell into place, did I really have any other choice in the matter? How can we not do songs about Bicycles. Except it's kind of hard. Only two came to mind initially: Brand New Key and Daisy Bell. It soon became apparent that I needed to expand beyond songs that exclusively include bicycle references, which lead me to a theme about 'wheels'... then things started opening up. Still, you may find some of the connections fairly tenuous. Eh bien, I think it'll be a fun set to play regardless. The song I'm looking forward to the most is definitely: Spinning Wheel (Blood Sweat and Tears). I hope you'll come give it a spin with me on Wednesday.

What can you expect at Bicycle Craft Brewery? First off, I do need to let you know that it is not a restaurant. There are bar snacks available, but not meals. Please come fed. What they have is fabulous beer and ways of tasting many flavours without committing to whole pints. Check out this picture I took of their menu:

We'll be projecting onto a screen, or perhaps the wall. There will be seating for everyone with our regular sized crew. As a reference, the room is roughly the same size as at Vimy. Come early to get the best spots. We'll be there from 6pm.

Have you joined the Ukebox Jams Facebook Group yet? I'd love to get input from you for crafting our setlists going forward. This is where we'll bat around song suggestions, thoughts on our jams, and even pictures, videos, and things of that nature.

Ukebox Brewery Tour:
Next Stop - Beyond The Pale

Next month, on May 9th (2nd Wednesday of the month), we'll be at  Beyond The Pale (250 City Centre Ave). For reference, it's right beside the Art Is In Bakery in the City Centre, the big curvy industrial building in Hintonburg. We'll definitely be doing the 'Dancing In The Dark' theme.
