Informational and Endorsement Meetings for the June 2018 Election
|
|
Join MGO today, Saturday, April 7th in the Family Room of the Montclair Presbyterian Church from 7.00-9.15pm as we hear from the following campaigns in the upcoming June election. The meeting is free to all, and pizza and light refreshments will be served.
We have confirmed candidates ("C") and representatives/surrogates ("S") from the following campaigns.
- California Governor - Delaine Eastin (S), Amanda Renteria (C)
- California Lieutenant Governor - Ed Hernandez (S), Eleni Kounalakis (S)
- California Attorney General - Dave Jones (S)
- California Secretary of State - Ruben Major (C)
- Alameda County Board of Education, District 1 - Joaquin Rivera (C), Abdur Skider (C)
- Alameda County Superior Court Judge, Seat 11 - Tara Flanagan (C), Karen Katz (C)
- Alameda County Assessor - Jim Johnson (C), Phong La (C)
- Alameda County Auditor - Irella Blackwood (C), Melissa Wilk (C)
- Local Ballot Measures - Oakland Measure D (S), Regional Measure 3 (S)
While we will not be voting on any endorsements at this meeting, our second informational meeting will take place on April 21st from 1:30-5:00pm, also at Montclair Presbyterian Church.
The April 21st meeting will feature an endorsement vote on all races and measures. We have already confirmed a number of candidates for California treasurer, Assembly District 15, Alameda County District Attorney, and a representative for Alameda County Measure A.
All meetings will feature intimate, one-on-one, open town hall-style Q&As with each candidate or representative.

If you have not renewed your paid MGO membership in the last two years - or if you would like to become a new MGO member, the membership signup period for the April 21st endorsement meeting closed on April 1st.
If you have been a paid MGO member within the last two years, you may renew your membership right until the endorsement meeting. Thanks to all of our existing and new members who have already confirmed their memberships!
The MGO member dues schedule is:
- $30 - one-year dues for one individual
- $45 - one-year dues for two individuals living at the same address
- $50 - two-year dues for one individual
- $75 - two-year dues for two individuals living at same address
- $20 - two-year dues for students, seniors, or individuals with limited income

The strong, immediate response that MGO has received from local, countywide, and statewide campaigns for our endorsement meetings - and the willingness of key decision makers to serve as panelists for our regular meetings - reflects the substantial equity that MGO continues to enjoy due to your continued participation in the club.
