🐾The Three P's🐾
Penelope, Piper & Phoebe
We love receiving updates on our rescues
Jill shared this update with us

Livin' the good life

I am happy to tell you how Penelope is doing.  She came to us in December 2016 and is really a joy!  She is so good and loves to constantly play with her rescue sisters, Piper & Phoebe.  She is very attached to my husband and is more human than dog.  She'll lay in his arms for a long time like a baby it is  so sweet.   I could go on and on but it's safe to say she is a terrific addition & so loved!

(If you would like to have you AMAR rescue FurBaby featured in an upcoming  newsletter please e-mail a photo and an update to cabrouillette18@gmail.com, please make sure to put AMAR in the subject line)

🐾Meet Lucky!!🐾

Meet Lucky!  He's one of  8 Maltese/Maltese mixes whom American Maltese Association Rescue recently rescued from South Korea.  Rescuers we’ve worked with in the past year, located in S. Korea and here, who are dedicated to saving dogs from the dog meat trade there, reached out to us to see if we would take some into rescue in the US.  They had saved 96 dogs from deplorable conditions on one farm, 76 of which were Maltese. These dogs are used to make elixir.  We were honored to partner with North Central Maltese Rescue, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue, Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue & Helping Hands Rescue in this massive rescue mission.  These dogs, ranging from 6 months to 3 years came to us after being quarantined in S. Korea for 30 days, vetted, which included the DHPP, canine flu and rabies vaccine, spayed or neutered, groomed and once in the USA they continue to be on a minimum 10 day quarantine.  They are being fostered in VA MD, NY and NJ. Check our FB page and Petfinder to find out when each of them will be up for adoption.  If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application to the AMAR website at www.americanmalteserescue.org.  For more pictures of these beautiful Maltese and Maltese mixes, please go to our Facebook page.

🐾 PupDates🐾

April 17th is, Gabriel's big day.   Gabriel has a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) and will be going for heart surgery in the morning. Please keep him in your prayers. American Maltese Association Rescue and his Foster Mom Stephanie would  like to thank all those that donated towards this costly surgery. It sure is appreciated and is helping to save his life. Without this surgery, Gabriel would have died.  Without people like you, AMAR could not help little ones like him that need us.

Little Oisin was unable to have his dental and neuter last month.  As he has had a drainage from his nose and his chest had some congestion so with the cleft pallet the vet was concerned with putting him under.  His surgery will be scheduled for May.   He is a little 3.9 lb, 7 year old sweetheart. If you sit down, he will be in your lap in seconds. He is a little 3.9 lb, 7 year old sweetheart. If you sit down, he will be in your lap in seconds. His Foster Mom Peggy says likes to play ball by batting it with his paws back to you. And if you ignore him, he will start batting you. His little mouth isn't big enough to pick the ball up.
