The Innovation Park Zurich is here!

The Innovation Park is now a visible reality! The modules and roof construction for the planned pavilion are already standing and the topping out ceremony took place yesterday.

The construction of this «Lighthouse» is the first of a number of important stages which will follow. The official opening and relocation of the office will take place in March 2018 with the ETH correlating a part of Hall 3 and the first enterprises moving in. Our Newsletter will report on what there is to be seen, and we hope you will stay in touch to get regular information from us.

There is already quite a lot to see, so please pay us a visit and get a first impression of the Pavilion, the H3 Event Space, the S3 Event Garage or the first activities in Hall 3.

Moving into the first Innovation Park Offices in the Maagtechnic Building

Due to appeals and zone compliance issues, it is not yet possible to move into the area of the planned Innovation Park.

So that interested companies can already benefit from the services of the Innovation Park, they have the opportunity to move in initially with our partner Maagtechnic. Here, 400 m2 of office space are available close to Stettbach Station. Companies who move in to these premises have access to all the services offered by the Park, and the company Matternet has already moved in successfully.

What Happens Next?

The Innovation Park will grow slowly but sustainably. Next, we want to take over Halls 4 and 5, and along with Hall 3, refurbish them to be suitable for flexible use (for offices, workshops, laboratories and storage).

Meanwhile the Foundation is looking for a partner for the redevelopment of the peripheral buildings, as well as the planning and realization of two new development plots.

An Introduction

Matternet

Matternet, a US company, develops drones to transport goods, and is the first company in the world to be granted a license to operate an entire drone logistics network over densely populated areas in Switzerland. With this operation Matternet transports blood between hospitals in co-operation with the Swiss Post in Lugano.

The Innovation Park warmly welcomes Matternet and wishes the team a good start in the Maagtechnic office facilities.
