Hello Harvesters!

Lots is blooming here at HC, from Huntington to Haiti and Cambodia. Keep reading for more details!

Common Ground

Garden Work Day with Common Ground.  We had such a stellar time partnering with Common Ground this past month and helping them get their raised beds planted with all sorts of fun veggies! Common Ground who's mission is to "restore communities to the love of Christ by providing at-risk youth with community, restoration, and adventure." The garden program will help educate local kids in the area and help bring awareness about growing your own food, eating healthy, as well as providing produce for the community.

Seed Distribution

In Partnership with Mariners Outreach and Glory Glory Center. Last month we had the privilege of partnering with Pastor Samuel again, director of the Glory Glory orphanage in Haiti. We have done numerous projects with him and Mariners Outreach in the past so it was fun to get the team back together last month to carry out our latest endeavor. After Hurricane Matthew hit in 2016, we realized the importance of seed banks and seed storage to help instill resilience to Haitian farmers in the South of Haiti. Because when storms come, they don't only just wipe out houses, they wipe out farmer's fields, their livelihoods, and their identities.
So, we helped purchased over 500 5-gallon buckets full of bean and corn seed to distribute all across the South of Haiti to local Farmers. Through Samuel and Mariner's extensive network we were able to come alongside and help instill some agricultural resilience.

Cambodia Trip

Craig and Brendon just got back from Cambodia! More stories and photos to come, but they have had a blast checking in with old friends, and the farm we developed a few years ago. They are also out there checking out new potential project sites! Stay tuned next month for more on this.

I am so encouraged by all of your involvement with HC. Thank you for staying updated and engaged. As always I would love to hear from you, please don't hesitate to send questions, thoughts, and ideas my way.

Blessings,
