Dear <<First Name>>
You may already have heard about GDPR which comes into force on May 25th 2018. It is basically an updated Europe-wide framework for data protection laws. There are significant implications for how organisation(s) can store, manage and make use of people’s personal data, including online communications.
At Argyle Financial Group we hold the necessary personal data required to properly manage your Portfolio and communicate with you regarding the various social, economic and political events which, from time to time, have a bearing on how we actively manage the various investments within your Portfolio.
Argyle email bulletins
As you know, we communicate with you regarding the aforementioned events (and other matters pertinent to the management of your Portfolio) by means of a monthly eBulletin, which is sent via email. This is sent to a ‘closed group’ comprising only those individuals who are currently clients of Argyle and is not used for any marketing purposes.
We will therefore continue to contact you in this manner after GDPR has taken effect, as we consider the processing of your data is appropriate to satisfy a ‘legitimate interest’ and because we are using your data in a manner which is reasonable (as we believe you would expect from us) in a fashion which is less intrusive than alternative methods and which carries a minimal privacy impact.
However, should you wish to receive a hard copy of the eBulletin in preference to email, please contact us at any time and we will arrange this for you. Furthermore, should you wish us to stop sending you this information in any format, please contact us at any time and we will action accordingly.
Can we also draw your attention to the Argyle Privacy Policy which can be viewed on our website here.
Transact reports
Finally, you should also be aware that because of new EU regulations, Transact are now obliged to provide you with quarterly reports rather than half yearly. You can request these reports are sent online to your portfolio to avoid receiving more paperwork in the post. Please let us know if you would prefer digital rather than paper and we will arrange.
