Calling all student publishers and editors
Free ice cream at a fair featuring student publications caps off Terps Publish, a day of networking and problem-solving geared toward helping student editors and publishers.

Participants will learn to leverage publishing software, manage submissions, understand copyright issues, and more. Ice cream will be served to passersby Tuesday, April 10 at 3:30 in front of McKeldin Library.
 
Stewarding the "richest audiovisual source of cultural history" 

Fifty years after Congress passed the Public Broadcasting Act in 1967, curator Laura Schnitker is hard at work stewarding the National Public Broadcasting Archives, a signature collection at the UMD Libraries.
 
In this article, she describes the cultural importance of preserving such archives – and the many challenges that working with audiovisual media presents.
 

Seeking Diversity Immersion Institute interns

Applications are now being accepted for interns for the second Diversity Immersion Institute hosted by the University Libraries. 

The weeklong program will build professional skills of future librarians as they work with pre-college students from underserved communities. Participants will understand their key roles in an ongoing commitment to promote diversity, inclusion and social justice. July 15 - 20, 2018.
