What's new since the launch of SOSOrinoco
A lot has happened since we launched the website and social media for SOSOrinoco in February of this year.

Since we launched in February, engaged activists, journalists, politicians and scientists have been following SOSOrinoco on social media, particularly Twitter, where more than 4000 followers are actively tweeting on a daily basis. Lately, people in Venezuela, specifically in the region South of the Orinoco have been contacting the SOSOrinoco Team to offer information, photos, testimonials of environmental and human rights abuses.

SOS Orinoco has highlighted human rights abuses in Amazonas and Bolivar states, where indigenous peoples are being abused by the Venezuelan armed forces and Violent Non-state Actors such as dissident FARC groups, ELN guerrillas groups from Colombia, local mafias known as "pranes".
