The UnityWorks Summer Institute is an action-packed, week-long annual professional learning event designed to prepare educators with the knowledge, tools, strategies and resources needed to improve school culture and student learning, and to design and carry out a successful Diversity Action Plan.
The training will be held in Yakima, WA, June 18-22, 2018
Monday-Friday, from 8:30-4:30. Clock hours available.
Who should attend? The content is appropriate for school board members, teachers, superintendents, principals, school counselors, librarians, parents, university faculty, community leaders and other educators. Mature high school and college students may also attend with at least one adult from their school.

How Much Does it Cost?
Training fee includes a resource‐packed workbook for each participant, plus one Teaching Unity Curriculum Toolkit and one Multicultural Conference Planning Guide per school, a light breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Additional meals, lodging and travel not included.
Individuals: $1,500/person (free to Yakima School District staff while seats last).
Teams: $1,250/person for groups of four or more registering together.
Superintendents:free with their team if minimum class size has been met.
Rabbani Trust Scholarships Available!
UnityWorks is delighted to announce the establishment of the "Eshraghieh and Mahmoud Rabbani UnityWorks Scholarship Fund." This new scholarship will cover all or part of the training fees for up to three people this summer. WA State HB 1541
The Washington State legislature recently passed House Bill 1541, mandating the development of "cultural competence training" for all teachers and administrators. Such training is considered a key strategy for closing the educational opportunity gap. OSPI has indicated that the UnityWorks Training is one option for responding to HB 1541.
