Dear CYBBies,

Alleluia! He is Risen!
From the whole CYBB Team, we hope that you had a blessed and joyful Holy Week and Easter celebrations. May the Risen Lord bring you and your loved ones joy and blessings of peace.

As always, we have a few exciting events coming up this month so be sure to save the dates! We are extremely excited to have Br Guy Consolmagno, the director of the Vatican Observatory, visit the diocese, speaking at our Twilight Talks as well as at the Waitara Cathedral and St Peter's Catholic College in Tuggerah. Don't miss out on the chance to hear him speak because his work is amazing (and he's pretty awesome as well)!

God Bless
Sarah & the CYBB Team

A Quick Note from Sarah
As you may be aware, next week will be my last week in my role as Parish Formation and Resource Coordinator in the CYBB Team. I would like to say a big thank you to all of the CYBBies I have encountered during my time here as I have been so blessed to have met so many passionate, spirit-filled and all round wonderful people from all over the Diocese! Thank you all for the support you have given me, particularly as I take my next step in my journey towards sacred architecture. This is not goodbye! I look forward to seeing you at different events and, of course, continuing friendships! #onceacybbiealwaysacybbie

Praying for you always,
Sarah

Did God create the Universe, or was there a Big Bang? Find out why we say “yes” to both… and how the glory of the Maker of the Stars can be found in understanding the science behind how He did it. This is an 18+ event which includes music, prayer, table fellowship and of course talking! We invite you to purchase your own food and drinks.

Theme: Maker of the Stars
Guest Speaker: Br Guy Consolmagno, Director of the Vatican Observatory

FUN FACT
  • How do you reconcile the The Big Bang with Genesis?
  • Was the Star of Bethlehem just a pious religious story or an actual description of astronomical events?
  • What really went down between Galileo and the Catholic Church – and why do the effects of that confrontation still reverberate to this day?
  • Will the Universe come to an end?
  • Could you really baptize an extraterrestrial?
All of these questions that seem to divide science and religion, also seem impossible! Well, Br Guy has actually discussed each of these topics in his book 'Would You Baptise an Extraterrestrial?' And the answer to the title is YES! (if they asked).
