9:00 am Coffee and Light Breakfast  


Join us at the Duckworth Centre for an informative day of learning, sharing and moving the Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter forward towards a brighter future. 
The formal program starts at 9:30 am but come a bit earlier to get some coffee and say hello to old friends and maybe make some new ones!

9:30 am Special Guest Speaker - Jeremy Hall
 

We are very excited to have Hemophilia Alberta member, Jeremy Hall, join us from Edmonton. Jeremy is a national champion in both a summer and winter sport. He will share with us his experience growing up as a lover of sport while managing his bleeding disorder. 
We are glad to have caught Jeremy right before he begins to train for the summer and grateful to him for making time for us as he works on his Masters in Biomedical Engineering, 
You won't want to miss his talk. He is a wonderful speaker and his story is inspirational! 

10:00 am Panel Presentation
   

A group of Chapter members ranging from teens to mature adults will talk about their experiences participating in sport and fitness activities. They will talk about their challenges, how they have adapted their treatment schedule to be more successful and ways the HTC has been helpful to them. 

10:30 am to 11:30 am
 

  • Chapter Children will move to another room for programming from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm
  • In the Driver's Seat Our very own Kathy Mulder is an author of this workbook developed by members of the Canadian Physiotherapists in Hemophilia Care (CPHC) to guide young and mature adults with bleeding disorders through an organized and thoughtful approach to decision-making around physical activity.  
  • Just the Guys Camping Trip Members of the Chapter Youth Committee will talk about the June 2018 camping trip to Riding Mountain National Park for male members with bleeding disorders between the ages of 17 and 35.
  • World Federation of Hemophilia Organization Twinning Program 2017 Twins of the Year Award Winners: Mongolia - Manitoba (Canada) The Chapter is so proud of the Twinning partnership with our friends in Mongolia and of the amazing work this partnership has done. This summer we are hosting a group of 6 representatives from the Mongolian National Hemophilia Association. 

11:30 am to 12:15 pm Dr. Jayson Stoffman
 

Dr Jayson Stoffman is the Medical Director of the Manitoba Bleeding Disorders program. He will give a general overview of available clotting products and a look at emerging novel therapies. 

 

12:15 pm to 1:00 pm Lunch

1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Pharma Presentations
