We have been open a couple of weeks and the weather has been cold wet windy. Two weeks ago volunteers were digging paths between the buildings the snow was that deep and we had a French school visiting the following day. The snow has gone thankfully and we are full bore preparing for RAF100 DAVIDSTOW which is on Sunday 8th April. We have been planning to repaint all the exterior walls for months but the weather has just not allowed it. However despite the weather we had a very busy Easter with lots of visitors over the three main days.
RAF100 DAVIDSTOW is being supported by RAF St Mawgan and the Station Commander Wing Commander Alex Mason will be taking the salute along with Air Commodore John Bessell. The parade will consist of personnel from RAF St Mawgan and Air Cadets and the Parade Marshall will be Station Warrant Officer Tim Thompson. There will be an unveiling ceremony of an impressive ‘monument’ marking the Centenary of the RAF.
IMPORTANT anyone wishing to attend should be on site by 13.30hrs. Overflow car park on the airfield with a shuttle bus.
