Aside from working with NSW Business Chamber on their Business Propel offering to ensure our local members get the complimentary benefits of this program, we are delighted to be supporting local Chamber members in their fundraising efforts for Royal Far West.  Full details on the May event below.

Last month saw our successful sustainability presentation at Truckbar coincide with Northern Beaches Council passing the straw motion.  Congratulations to Cr Natalie Warren and the    SO Manly team on the success of this motion, where venues will be encouraged to phase out the usage of plastic straws.  We will continue to throw our support behind this and encourage you to as well by saying NO to single use plastic and ditch plastic straws!  Super inspired to make a difference?  Pop along with the STRAWkle Squad to tidy up Manly Cove 9am Sat 14 April.

With this recent focus on sustainability, in our search for alternatives to plastic bags the Chamber has connected with the team behind EcoBag Media who produce 100% biodegradable sturdy Australian made bags.  We’ve negotiated some incredible advertising rates for this walking billboard and welcome you to get in touch if you’re interested to learn more and want to be part of the solution.

In the meantime, click here to check out the snaps from the Sustainability Presentation as seen through the lens of our very own Orlando from Luminere Images and look forward to catching up at Ruby Lane later this month if not before.

Free tool - Business Propel

The key daily challenges for most Australian businesses are:
* finding more customers
* getting access to finance

Only 50% of small businesses actually have a business plan to help tackle these problems amongst many others.
As a member of the Manly Business Chamber you can now access a new complimentary online business action plan tool via NSW Business Chamber Business Propel.
Business Propel currently allows you to analyse a specific part of your business (e.g. sales or cashflow) and develop an action plan to tackle gaps and problems, which will only take 30 minutes.  Ten minutes to complete the diagnostic questions, 20 minutes to read the subsequent report and suggested actions to take.
There are 20 different diagnostic questionnaires and reports across these five key business functions:

1. Customers   2. Finance   3. Operations  4. People  5. Strategy

For a quick overview of the system, visit the website or watch the promotional video.  Or for more information drop us a line at chamber@manly.org.au.

WORDS FROM A CHAMBER CHAMPION

Sean Condell -Condell Financial
Is there something different about the crypto bubble?

There certainly are people out there who have made plenty of money investing in cryptocurrencies. Over the last few years the price of Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies have increased by a staggering amount. And no one knows how high these prices could go. Some commentary has predicted that the price of Bitcoin could rise to $40,000 or even further. On the other hand, there are significant risks and some alarming similarities between the current surge in prices and other investment ‘bubbles’ that have occurred in the past.

Click here for the full article where Sean Condell discusses a few of these.
