FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 5, 2018

April 8-14, 2018 is National Crime Victims' Rights Week

Tucson, Arizona – Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall announced that April 8-14, 2018 is National Crime Victims’ Rights week.  The theme this year is, Expand the Circle/Reach all Victims, and it highlights how the investment of communities in the lives of crime victims expands the opportunities for victims to disclose their victimizations, connect with services, and receive the support they need.

LaWall said, “I am proud of the new programs and initiatives that my office has implemented in collaboration with other victim service organizations and law enforcement to ensure we reach all victims.”

To wrap up this important week, representatives from the Pima County Attorney’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, Mothers against Drunk Driving, and Homicide Survivors, Inc. invite you to join them on April 13th at the Joel D. Valdez Library to celebrate rights and services for victims in Pima County.  It will be an opportunity to network with victim service providers, learn about the services available to victims, recognize the efforts of our collaborations, and hear from victims about the importance of services and rights throughout their healing and recovery.
