People who run 100 miles are wise crazies

Hello <<First Name>>,

I bought a couple of books recently. Both were about running. One by Scott Jurek (maybe you don't know him but he is one of the greatest runners ever); the other by Haruki Murakami (I didn't know him).

The lady at the counter asked me whether I was running the Cork City Marathon. I am not. But I felt valued as a customer. She could have said nothing and just taken my money. Instead she started a conversation about me.

If I met you, what book would you be carrying that would make it easy for me to start a conversation about you?

Past work:
The Gate Is Down, the Beast is Wild

Tip: Tell Your Story Openly and Honestly

Ballyvolane House Spirits Company:
The Gate is Down, the Beast is Wild
WHEN: September 2016.

WHO: Ballyvolane House Spirits Company.

WHAT: Live-action video.

WHY: There is plenty of fakery in marketing, in the food and drink sector in particular. Big companies pass their products off as handmade, artisan, small ... you name it. Often they aren't.

Ballyvolane House Spirits Company's products are all of those things, though. When we filmed this, the owners were the distillers. They still are, although they have taken on an employee to help. If you buy their Bertha's Revenge gin, this is where it is made, how it is made and by whom it is made.

HOW: A straightforward chronology of making a batch of Bertha's Revenge.

The next step

I've finished my two running books. Can you recommend any others about running? Long distance, preferably.

Did you know that the Sri Chimnoy Self-transcendence 3,100-mile Race is the longest road race in the world? For 52 days, you circle the same block in Queens, New York.

Have a [GRAND] week,

Roger (and Anne and Jon and Paul)
