Spring's Delights

The snow has melted; honey bees are voraciously foraging; school garden education programs are in full swing; seedlings are patiently awaiting transplanting; and EGP has hired two new farmers!

Thanks again to everybody who came out for our Seedy Saturday event at Lonsdale Quay; it was great to see so many folks as enthusiastic about seeds as we are! We have many exciting events to share with you so be sure to read on!

Welcome Haydn and Claire!

We're excited to introduce our two new farmers to the EGP community!

Haydn brings a cornucopia of experience as a farmer, cook and coordinator. He's passionate about all things food and is excited to work with the diverse communities on the North Shore. Please read his full (and very well written) bio on the EGP website!

Claire brings her passion and experience as an event and farmer's market coordinator. She's excited to join the EGP team and build sustainable food systems on the North Shore! Her bio is coming soon!

Volunteer Orientation

Come on out to Loutet Farm next Wednesday, April 11 from 5-7pm for a volunteer orientation and work bee! We'll be speaking about our different volunteer opportunities with EGP and moving fresh compost onto the farm! Come meet the EGP team and be prepared to get dirty!

Seeds of Change

At Loutet Farm, some of our favourite vegetables come from hybridized seeds. What does that mean? This article talks about the importance of preserving open-pollinated seeds and how to promote a diverse and seed-secure future!
