We are excited to announce two updates about Curate Science:
  • We have just released our latest curation framework (version 5.2.0) that features several significant additions and improvements (for full details see here). Notable updates include:
    • Our framework is now more strongly guided by sophisticated falsificationist principles. A credible finding is one that has survived scrutiny along (at least) the following 3 dimensions: (1) method/data transparency, (2) analytic reproducibility/robustness, and (3) effect replicability. Hence, evaluating the credibility of empirical research requires curating its transparencyreproducibility/robustness, and replicability.
    • Our transparency curation workflow has been expanded and improved. It now covers compliance to reporting standards/methodological disclosure statements, open/public materials/data, preregistration/Registered Reports information, and reproducibility syntax files/computational capsules. A new interactive prototype is now available showcasing how users will be able to search for (and filter by) studies with available transparency components (and directly engage with the available transparency components; go to our about page to see the interactive prototype).
    • Our curation workflow for gauging a study's analytic reproducibility and analytic robustness has also been expanded and improved (see here for details).

  • Two major funding updates:
    • Lead Etienne LeBel was awarded the prestigious 2-year Marie-Curie (European Research Council) fellowship to scale up Curate Science at KU Leuven in Belgium with collaborator Wolf Vanpaemel (starting September 2018).
    • We just recently submitted a 4-year Flemish (FWO) grant proposal to fund a full-time PhD student (to conduct meta-scientific research and curation work for Curate Science) and a full-time software developer (to expand and improve our technical infrastructure).

Sincerely,
Curate Science Team
