Village Market E-news for April 21st, 2018

Cornucopia of Winter and Spring Local Organic Greens

Farmer Mike Lanigan said it took his helpers a total of five hours to harvest this mountain of local organic spinach from his greenhouse. He managed to sell pretty much all of it last Saturday in spite of the sleet, hail and freezing rain. Amanda (in photo above) was one of those who helped with the spinach harvest.

Of course Village Market farmers Jim Giffen and Peter Seenath are also regularly bringing fresh local organic greens to the Village Market from their own greenhouses.

Dael Wilson, Michelle, Anup, Michael Earle

This just in from Alexandra: "Dael Wilson (osoleo) just returned from Guatemala and would like to set-up this Saturday with his fresh organic Guatemalan coffee and turmeric root as well as our apple cider and apples."

People have been asking when the apple juice man would return. Their patience will soon be rewarded! Photo at left is of Dael from August 2016.

Michelle of Kango Naturals will have cosmetic grade Avocado oil on sale for DIY skin care!

Anup Ruparella of Affinity Capital will be at the Market this Saturday to talk about your investments. Do you know what your money is doing?

In case you haven't noticed, Michael Earle is cooking again in the Village Market kitchen. You can order your omelettes and pizzas from Fran at the Molly B's table inside the main Market space.

Glencolton Farms are here every week now with baking from Michael Schmidt and Vitold Kreutzer. Look for them by the rainbow wall at the back of the Village Market space.

This would be the week that Oli Ullmann is here. However, Oli will be away this week and is expected back May 5th.

Cameron Birnie to Perform April 21st

Cameron Birnie returns April 21st to the Village Market stage. Sit back and enjoy the music or get up on stage and sing along. Or just listen while you shop. Above: Cameron (right), with frequent sing-along partner, Chris. Photo from Halloween of 2016.

NEWS from and for Members of WSAO

Any persons who were members of WSAO by virtue of subscribing to Renewal or Rudolf Steiner Education  (previous Child in Man) prior to 2007 through WSAO or by virtue of serving on the WSAO Board may be interested to know that a group of members is meeting at 7:00 pm on Thurs., April 26, 2018 in the Seminar Room at Hesperus to elect a Board to facilitate the lawful and morally appropriate dissolution of the corporation of WSAO.

We had a good meeting on Tuesday, the 17th of April – some reminiscing and getting clarity about a number of issues. Due to the weather and road conditions, we did not quite meet quorum. So we adjourned the meeting and will reconvene next Tuesday, same time and place.

Having gotten the ‘legalese’ out of the way we’ll be able to concentrate on the election of the board and discussing the liquidation and allocation of remaining assets. It will not be necessary to replace proxies, if need be, and additional nominations as well as proxies can also be submitted for the reconvened Special Members Meeting.

Please note that if you meet the criteria of members described above and if you have not formally resigned the position of 'member in the corporation', you are a member by virtue of WSAO having had no legally constituted meetings of members or Annual General  Meeting of Members since 2007.

Respectfully:

Sybille Hahn

NOTE: WSAO is an acronym for the Waldorf School Association of Ontario.
