Congratulations to the 2018 Sustainability Award Winners

Lakewood is celebrating the 11th anniversary of the Sustainability Awards with an inspiring set of leaders. These eight winners for the 2018 Sustainability Awards showed us how creativity, passion and determination can create healthier communities, keep waste out of the landfill, spread environmental awareness and bring neighbors together. Keep reading to learn about our 2018 award winners!

We Need Your Help!

You can make every day earth day by recycling! Recycling saves energy, decreases pollution and preserves the Lakewood we love. It is something simple we can all do to protect our planet and give our children an even better tomorrow.

Whether you are starting from scratch or are a zero waste champion, we need your help to reach Lakewood’s recycling goals! Visit Lakewood.org/WeRecycle for recycling facts, tips and other resources to help you and your neighbors recycle more.

Help Lakewood Become a
Top Water Saver

Join Mayor Adam Paul in pledging to save every drop of water and help Lakewood win as the most water-wise city in the National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation. Sign up at mywaterpledge.com by May 1. Residents in the cities with the most pledges are eligible to win eco-friendly prizes and money for their utility bills. They can also nominate their favorite charity to win a hybrid Toyota.

Last year, residents in more than 4,800 cities in all 50 states pledged to reduce their annual use of fresh water by 2.2 billion gallons. Take a minute to help Lakewood show the rest of the nation it cares about our planet.
