Relationship on Purpose: Seeing Past the Flesh Lesson 6
*Demonic Assignments
• Sometimes there are people who are on a demonic assignment.
Acts 16:16-18 NLT “One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.”
• Remember that people are either in the Kingdom of God or in the kingdom of darkness.
Acts 26:18 BSB “to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.”
Colossians 1:13 NLT “For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,”
• People in the kingdom of darkness, do not even know they are being used by the enemy.
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 NLT “But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours. These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.”
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 GWT “But I'll go on doing what I'm doing. This will take away the opportunity of those people who want to brag because they think they're like us. People who brag like this are false apostles. They are dishonest workers, since they disguise themselves as Christ's apostles. And no wonder, even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it's not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants who have God's approval. In the end they will get what they deserve.”
• Sometimes, people in the Kingdom of God succumb to the influence of the enemy and can be used as well.
Philippians 1:15 CEV “Some are preaching about Christ because they are jealous and envious of us. Others are preaching because they want to help.”
• We have to remember who the real enemy is.
Ephesians 6:12 GNT “For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.”
