SPRING CLEANUP
8:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday April 21st
Clean around the new playground, pick up litter, or help clear brush to help make the park "picture perfect" for the artists who will soon come paint it, the art lovers who will visit, and our kids all summer long.
Stop by the coffee station at the community center before heading to the trails or the playgrounds with a litter bag or gloves to improve our park. Or help cut honeysuckle below Valentine Rd in the "south meadow." (Bring your own loppers or pruning saw. We will have gloves.) We always have fun making the park look nicer!! Rain or shine.

Plein Air KC Comes to Roanoke Park!

Watch the artists create! Enjoy the food truck and live music!
Plein Air KC is a fantastic event organized by and benefitting the Penn Valley Park Conservancy. And now for the first time, one of their "Quick Paints" will be held in Roanoke Park!
Sunday, May 6th will be a family-friendly day in Roanoke Park where patrons can come and watch over 60 artists transform blank canvases to beautiful works of art depicting Roanoke Park. Monk's Roast Beef will be serving food from their Food Truck throughout the evening for artists and patrons to enjoy. Come hungry!!!
The first horn will blow at 5pm and artists will have until 7pm to create and finish their masterpieces. Patrick Saunders Fine Arts will judge the Quick Paint immediately after.
Live music will also be performed in the park throughout the evening by the Max Levy Trio! Musicians include: Max Levy (saxophone), Peter Martin (guitar), and Seth Lee (bass). We invite you to grab a picnic blanket, a lawn chair or just yourself and join the fun in Roanoke Park on May 6th! This is a free event and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
