Thanks to everyone who entered the Neighbour Day Tell Us Your Story competition. Entries have closed and the judges are currently reading a massive pile of stories of great neighbours and neighbourhoods. From what these stories tell us, it really does take a neighbourhood to raise a child. Winners will be announced on Sunday 6 March 2018 on Facebook and Twitter.
We need your advice!
For Neighbour Day 2018 people from across the country came together at just short of 700 registered events - and from what we learned last year - only about 20% of hosts actually register their event! This year more than 4000 free Neighbour Day resources were downloaded, so it looks like there were plenty of opportunities to celebrate. Neighbours from all walks of life celebrated at morning teas, backyard barbecues, street parties, community gardens and gatherings – all in the name of getting to know the people around them.
While it’s true that not everything that counts can be counted – each year we do our best to measure the social impact of Neighbour Day.
You’re invited to take part in our online survey about Neighbour Day 2018. Did you get involved? If so, how did you celebrate? Why do you think Neighbour Day is important? We want to hear how you feel about Neighbour Day. We'd love to know what you think.
Submit your completed online survey by Wednesday 9 May to go into the draw to receive one of five $50 cash cards.
Thank you again to those who responded to our survey last year - very neighbourly indeed!
