The Urban League of Rochester closed out our 26th Membership Campaign on March 11, 2018 at the Greater Harvest Church.

April 5, 2018 – ULR partnered with High Achievement New York to encourage Rochester parents to "Say Yes" to New York State’s ELA and math tests.

YouthBuild Rochester participants spoke about program to New York State Senators
March 15, 2018 – ULR’s YouthBuild program participants met up with YouthBuild delegates from across New York State to speak to New York State Senators about how the program has positively impacted their lives. Over 200 people attended the event held at the New York State Legislative Office Building in Albany, New York.
What's Happening at ULR
C-Tech program begins
April 2018 – The Urban League of Rochester's workforce program participants completed the first part of their C-Tech course. C-Tech is a 3-week introductory course designed to prepare individuals for a career in voice and data telecommunication and networking fields. The course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to become certified entry-level technicians in the network cabling industry. The course was organized by the ULR's Urban Apprenticeship Jobs Program, funded by the National Urban League. The goal of the program is to increase diversity and inclusion in apprenticeships for underrepresented individuals in the Greater Rochester Area. 
Youth visit colleges over Spring Break
April 2018 – The Urban League of Rochester’s youth program participants were very busy during their Spring Break visiting colleges across New York State, including Alfred University where they walked through the University’s Equestrian Center.
Business Development Center hosts
e-commerce workshop
March 5, 2018 - ULR's Business Development Center collaborated with the City of Rochester to conduct a workshop that introduced small businesses owners to the different aspects of e-commerce. The workshop taught business owners how to use social media and Google My Business to boost their online presence.

ULR 1985 Membership Campaign Tops $21,000 


1985 Membership Awards Dinner and Recognition Ceremony was held at Wishing Well Restaurant in February. Mrs. Ravynnia L. Banks-Brock throws hands into the air when she learned that Jefferson Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church was awarded a plaque for producing the highest dollar amount of any church or organization during the 1985 ULR Membership Campaign.
