Sumter County Economic Development Attends FEDC Conference
 
Sumter County staff attended the annual event held in South Florida this year.  Overall, the business and governmental attendees were very bullish on Florida's economy, which is expected to hit 1 Trillion Dollars of GDP this year.  Areas of concern were labor shortages across industries, affordable housing for workers and infrastructure expansions needed to meet the rapidly growing population and economy.  There was also renewed commitments from education and workforce development representatives to address the labor shortage issues in the short term.  Upcoming changes in state leadership were forecast to maintain or improve the favorable business environment.
