Steam returns to Helston Railway after 55 years

Announced earlier today -
THE WAIT IS OVER! We are excited to announce that the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust’s Peckett steam locomotive ‘Kilmersdon’ will be joining our locomotive stable until Early 2019! The plan is for ‘Kilmersdon’ to haul its first trains on the line for our ‘Return to the 40’s’ event on the 27 & 28 May! “We haven’t forgotten about William Murdoch, it is currently undergoing the final stages of its boiler work before re-assembly and then testing, we hope for Murdoch to be back in steam later this year, when you will have the chance to ride behind TWO peckett steam locomotives!” - Ben Harding, marketing director.
