I’m pleased to confirm that the seventh Watford Jobs Fair will take place on Thursday 13th September 2018 at the Langley Banqueting Suites, Watford High Street.

Every year I organise the Watford Jobs Fair, which is a day-long event linking local companies with vacancies to those looking for a new job. With thanks to sponsors Camelot and intu Watford the fair is completely free for those looking for a job and exhibiting companies.

The fair is open to all, with managerial, full-time and technical jobs on offer, along with apprenticeships and training, casual work for students, part-time roles for mums, first jobs and opportunities to change career.

Last year, there were over 70 local employers and 1,400 jobs available in Watford on the day. Over 4,000 people attended to speak to employers, as well get some CV advice or take part in a mock interview. I also organised seminars and workshops to support all attendees into employment. I’m hoping this years will be even bigger and better.

Visit www.watfordjobsfair.co.uk to register if you’d like to exhibit or to get your fast track ticket for free entry. The website will also be updated as firms confirm their attendance, so you can plan who you want to talk to in advance.

Fantastic visit to Holywell Primary

I recently spent the afternoon at Holywell Primary in West Watford and I was hugely impressed by the dedicated staff, well behaved and enthusiastic students, and state-of-the art facilities.

That afternoon, students were learning about the environment and animal welfare. We talked about what bees do for our eco-system and how we can protect the planet for future generations. Later, I took part in a sing-song for their music lesson!

Michael Green Foundation's Golf Day

The Michael Green Diabetes Foundation (MGDF) will be running its annual Mixed Golf Day at Hartsbourne Country Club on Thursday 19 July 2018. Now in its second year, the Golf Day is one of the charity’s key fundraising events, bringing together around 100 players to raise essential funds for its work.

As a proud patron of The Michael Green Foundation, I am very passionate about the work that they do locally to raise awareness of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

The funds raised from this event will be used to support and expand the charity’s work across West Herts, building greater awareness of Diabetes and how it can be prevented.

For more information about the day please visit www.themgdf.org
