For our April playing meeting, we will in the Community Room at Carol Woods in Chapel Hill. We will be playing from 2:30 until 5:00 with a brief snack break in the middle.

Jennifer Streeter will lead. We will play from our current anthology.  Pieces for this Sunday's meeting: p. 6-7, 9, 18, 24-25, 36, 42-43.

Costs: For members, meeting fees are $10.00. For non-members, the first visit is free; subsequent meetings are $15.00.
 



TRS Spring Recital- Sunday, May 20 - start practicing now!

The annual TRS Recital is coming up Sunday, May 20. Performers may include solos, groups, all levels, and various instruments. Don’t be shy about participating! We all enjoy the sounds of recorders and appreciate the range of skills that we bring together. If you or your group plan to play, please sign up by emailing Jennifer Streeter (jasharpsichord@yahoo.com) by Wednesday, May 16 with the following information:

  1. Name of piece, with movements, sub-titles, etc. (If it's a set of pieces, you can name the set if you like, with the individual pieces under it)
  2. Composer and/or arranger, preferably with dates
  3. Name of group, director, as appropriate
  4. Performer(s), if you wish to list them separately, along with any instruments being played other than recorder
  5. Number of chairs needed, and arrangement
  6. Any desires about being early or late in the program, before or after other pieces in the program, etc.
  7. Name and PHONE NUMBER for contact person for the group
  8. If your performance is longer than about 5-6 minutes, indicate which portions you are willing to cut if time becomes an issue.  You will be contacted ahead of time should that become necessary.

ABOUT TRS:
The Triangle Recorder Society is a group of recorder players from the Triangle area of North Carolina.  We are a proud chapter of the American Recorder Society.

We meet on the third Sunday of each month in Durham, Raleigh, or Chapel Hill. Meetings are from 2:30-5:00. $10 members, $15 non-members. All skill levels are welcome. Join us!

Carolina Mountains Recorder Society Workshop- May 5: Professional recorder player and teacher Pat Petersen will be in Hendersonville, NC, in May, and she will present a 2-hour workshop at our Carolina Mountains Recorder Society meeting on Saturday, May 5, 1-3 PM, in Carolina Village’s Village Hall.
 
The May 5 Pat Petersen workshop is free to current CMRS members.  Non-members are most welcome for a fee of $25.00 per person.
 
Pat is also available for private lessons or coaching for small ensembles before or after the May 5thworkshop.
