Local Yarn Store Day 2018

One of the wonderful things about living in the crafty Northwest is our abundance of small, independent yarn shops, each with its own unique style and selection. Eugene is lucky enough to have four such shops, and we thought the inaugural Local Yarn Store Day would be the ideal chance to celebrate! So, this Saturday, April 21st, we're holding a citywide Shop Hop: a day for getting the knitty-gritty (pun intended) of every store and what makes each special. Cozy, Eugene Textile Center, The Knit Shop, and Soft Horizons Fibre will all be having select yarns on sale, and if you visit and get a stamp at each shop (no purchase necessary), you can turn in your stamp card to be entered into a prize drawing. Stamp cards will be available at each shop starting on Friday afternoon, and your can drop off completed cards at your last stop on the Hop!

What do we have in store for the big day?
  • A Trunk Show for Wooly Moss Roots (another excellent small, local business), featuring handmade wood buttons, jewelry, and shawl pins
  • Yarn by Wonderland Yarns in their exclusive, made-for-the-day colorway, "LYS Love"
  • A bouquet of bright spring colors in Jilly by Dream In Color Yarn, as well as their new hand-dyed learn-to-knit kits for kids
  • A free LYS Shawl pattern by Casapinka with yarn purchase
  • All hand-dyed and handpainted yarns are 25% off regular price for the day!
For those of you hardcore yarn lovers in town who want to take the LYS Love to the next level, Cozy is holding another inaugural event, our very first pub trivia night!
Join us on Sunday, April 22nd, from 6-8 pm, at our neighbor Tap & Growler for appetizers, beer, cider, and (we hope) challenging questions about yarn, needlearts, Eugene, and Oregon (the "local" and the "yarn" parts of LYS Day). We'll assign teams and the winners earn Cozy gift cards.
Due to space limitations and event management, you must register in advance for a spot. Sign up on our Classes page and save your place!
LYS Day 2018 is knitting up to be a Very Big Deal, but there's more fun to come this Spring!
May classes are up on the website for registration. Kitty Bryan, from Richland, WA, is returning to Cozy to teach Fearless Steeking, and local instructor Cindy Bauer is bringing back her super-popular The Self-Rescuing Knitter for an encore performance.
For the beginning of May, we'll have a week-long visiting trunk show of yarns by In The Deep Hue Sea, from Camas, WA--speckles galore!
And on May 12--more details to come--we're hosting Black Trillium Fibres, from Portland, who will be featuring their new Cloud Layers colors.
