Parent Meeting May 20th during CARPY Sunday!

We have been putting a great emphasis on the family lately. Last month I encouraged Y'all, as parents, in your role of being the ones who bear the primary responsibility for the discipleship of your children. We also discussed how you are not left alone in that responsibility as you have a covenant family here at Centennial who are here to support you and how I am here to support and encourage you as well.

One of those ways will be to help provide some help with ideas for you to disciple your kid(s).  On Sunday, May 20th, during CARPY Sunday we will have a Parent's meeting to go over some ideas that I am putting together for you guys. Those ideas being: Scripture memory as a family and ways for CARPY to be in prayer for the body of Centennial ARP Church.  You will hear me say this till the day I die: the children are a part of, and a BIG part of, the church body! It is my prayer that those in CARPY see that clearly and also feel that responsibility to serve this church and to love and care for its people.

So join me and CARPY for a CARPY Parent's Meeting on May 20th, directly following the church service in the fellowship hall as we help provide you, the parents, with practical ways to care and tend to the discipleship of your children.

Resource of the Month

The Source for Youth Ministry purchased www.thesource4parents.com and began developing a free resource website specifically for parents.  This site would mirror www.thesource4YM.com in some areas (movie reviews, Youth Culture Window articles, blog) but also provide some resources unique to parents.  They enlisted the help of Christian authors such as Jim Burns, Al Menconi and Wayne Rice to bring articles  with one focus - "Parenting Help." In addition their team of writers began revamping some of the popular Movie Clip Discussions and Music Discussions from www.thesource4ym.com, customizing them for parents to use with their teens and tweens. The new parenting site also offers a Q&A page called Ask the Source where real parents provide real answers to real questions.

www.thesource4parents.com is now building momentum, helping one parent at a time with a regular dose of helpful parenting videos on their Youtube page and Facebook page where parents can interact.
