AMSA Global Health Projects Updates

AMSA Crossing Borders
After an incredibly successful Detention Harms Health March AMSA CB has launched our National MP callout running from Mon April 23 - May 7

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are asking medical students across Australia to call their MP concerned for the health and human rights of those detained on offshore processing centres. The more students who call, the more MPs will listen!

Make sure you're attending AMSA CB MP callout event (and invited all your med friends) where we have provided all the info needed!
AMSA Code Green
We're off to the United Nations!
Over the next fortnight, AMSA Code Green will be repping Australian medical students at the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Germany! (We're pretty bloody excited)

It's an amazing opportunity to learn from world leaders in climate policy and advocacy, and we hope to bring all sorts of new ideas and initiatives back to Australia afterwards!

But WE NEED YOUR HELP to make sure we're representing your interests to the rest of the world. Please fill out this form to tell us what you want us to talk about while we are there!
AMSA Reproductive Rights

AMSA Reproductive Rights have been busy with the April Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and our advocacy is far from over! Below are some ways you can get involved

2. Fill out and share our survey on Sexual and Reproductive Health for Australian Medical Students and Recent Graduates

Look out for our upcoming database of organisations that deal with Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence and start brainstorming workshops for your uni!
AMSA Health Communities

AMSA Global Health is extremely excited to announce the launch of AMSA Healthy Communities! After almost a year of preparation, our newest global health project, which focuses on tackling noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) is up and running!

Right now, we’re starting a campaign to get rid of sugar-sweetened beverages in healthcare facilities. Look out for opportunities to make some noise on this important issue!

Keep your eyes peeled for Healthy Communities Subcommittee and Working Group Callouts to get involved!!

If you have any surplus medical textbooks <10 years old and suitable for undergraduate medical studies please contact Helena (helena.qian@amsa.org.au) who will be co-ordinating a book drive by AMSA Global Health
