The process is what matters
Almost no free spaces in a 60-seats room at ITU to learn insights from the brains at design agencies Antistatique and YAAY in our 11th UN Designers meeting.
Under 'Design Systems' Antistatique took us through design documentation nowadays. Far from the traditional pdf guidelines, new communication channels require dynamic systems based in atomic design. It may sound very scientific or far-fetched, but once you familiarize with the terminology, it makes total sense. If this sounds interesting, Marc Friederich suggested a book and a website to get you started. Their presentation can be seen here (press spacebar to see all slides).
Second talk from YAAY took us inside their design process, with interesting examples on their relationship with clients and how to make them part of the team, 'sharing their suffering'. They showed us through their data visualization work the importance of shaping content in the right way before getting into purely design stage: design thinking as a problem-solving discipline beyond the artboards.
In sum, it was a great meeting, with plenty of good advice to take home. A big thanks to the two studios for their presentations, and to all of you who made it to the meeting!
