A Message From The President

April 26, 2018                       Volume 6 No. 132
Making the Internet secure and Safer for Nigerians

The recent Investigative journalism conducted by Punch Newspapers, and widely circulated online should be of great concern to all Nigerians. While some students are busy studying and preparing for the examinations, others simply wait and then pay for instant access to the examination questions and answers on these websites.

Consider the five sites that the Punch investigated: naijaclass.com, examcrown.com, examsort.com, waecexpo.com and guruslodge.com

These websites are all .com domains. Catching these destroyers of our education system is a tough task, as most of them register gTLD domains like .com, .co, and .biz and host them on very cheap and disposable websites outside the shores of Nigeria.

TECH SPEAK

Email Clients in CPANEL
CPanel, the online Linux-based web hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a website, recently announced their plan to stop shipping SquirrelMail in the near future for new installations of CPanel and their support for SquirrelMail.

Removing SquirrelMail from webmail options leaves cPanel users with only Horde and Roundcube.

SquirrelMail has been one of the cPanel bundled webmail applications. Due to no support for the application, cPanel needed to take a decision to stop shipping SquirrelMail for new installations of cPanel & WHM and remove supports with prior versions. This decision is expected to affect many users.
