How safe is your personal information?
You will have heard of the new General Data Protection Act which will come into effect on 25th May 2018.This is good news for all of us as it requires all organisations holding our personal data to take greater care of it and thus reduces the risk of it being accessed by those wishing to use it for criminal purposes.
The only information we have about you is what you gave us when you became a Neighbourhood Watch member and registered for the e-watch service.This is simply your email address; your first and last names; the first line of your address; your village name and your Post Code. We need this in order to send you information relevant to your village and if necessary, your Post Code area.
Keeping your personal information safe and secure is our top priority and you can be assured that it is managed securely and never passed on to a third party.Our Privacy Policy gives full details and a link to it is now included in the foot of every message we issue.
The fact that the law is changing only builds on the existing Data Protection Act – giving our personal information the respect and security it deserves. You do not need to take any action.
Account maintenance
If you move to a new house, please notify us of your change of address unless you intend to ‘unsubscribe’. Moving out of the Polden Hills area doesn’t mean you have to cease membership of e-watch. You can continue to receive our messages where ever you are if you feel they are of value. If you are planning to change your e-mail address it is important to notify us of the change.

If you see someone acting suspiciously around a neighbour’s property, call the police straight away. If they’re obviously breaking in, ring 999. Otherwise, call the non-emergency number 101: police operators are on hand 24/7.

Co-op Local Community Fund
Every time a Co-op member shops at the Co-op, 1% of what they spend on selected own-brand products and services goes to the Co-op Local Community Fund.In addition, the money raised from sales of carrier bags will be shared equally between us and the other causes in our community.
