Resurrection Voices
Our youngest members kicked off a service project a week ago… one that will last the entire summer! Our efforts began with a food drive for the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. We collected 160 pounds of food! We are grateful for your donations!
Additionally, our students learned about the Food Pantry of Waukesha County and the services it offers. We then rolled up our sleeves and planted vegetable seeds!
You can find them in the breezeway of the church for the next few weeks. Once the community garden is ready, our students will plant the seedlings in the garden.
This summer our students will be learning about creation during summer Sunday School and will be tending to the garden. We will donate the items harvested from the garden to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. You are welcome to join us in the garden this summer.

Volunteers Needed
Roadside Cleanup

A roadside cleanup will be held after the 10 am service on Sunday, May 20. We are asking for volunteers to assist.  Volunteers should wear their "Our Hands God's Work" t-shirts that day. Human Concerns council chairman Steve DeRosier will be leading the cleanup and will treat participants to lunch and ice cream at Culvers afterwards. Please consider volunteering. Thank you.

Lay Ministry Signup

The sign up genius self sign up for Lay Ministry is working great.  A lot of the assignments are being filled this way and it results in far fewer schedule conflicts.  Any openings that are not selected are still assigned as in the past.  If you know you have a conflict for particular dates, let the office know so you are not scheduled.

To take advantage of this new method, click on the link below to sign up for Lay Ministry slots in May.

Spring Clean-up Day
   Saturday, May 19, 9 am-1 pm
We will be sprucing up our property with new bark mulch and trimming and cleaning our planting beds. We will also be washing windows and dusting and cleaning.

Many hands will make light work!  Bring your rakes, wheelbarrows, and shovels or your window washing and dusting supplies.

We will enjoy a light lunch together at noon.  Please volunteer to help the property committee in this fun clean up event.  There is a sign-up sheet located in the narthex.
Thank you!

Do you have some extra items lying around in your basement?

At the end of May, COR is hosting homeless families through Family Promise of Waukesha County for the first time. Each family will be housed in one of the Sunday school rooms. We want to make those rooms as homey as possible for our families, so we are looking for the following items:
  • Large area rugs
  • Lamps with warm bulbs (we want to counteract the harsh florescent lighting in those rooms)
  • Comfy chairs
  • End tables
  • Bean bags
  • Rocking chairs
  • Large floor pillows
  • Anything else you have that would help us make those rooms comfy
  • Toys, games, books and DVDs for children (or adults)

Please drop off all items at the office. Additionally, there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for several essential items we will be needing for the week, such as tissues and toothpaste. If you have any questions, contact Beth Earnest at earnestbeth@gmail.com or 414-380-9336.

If you can’t volunteer in person, we would love your help in providing items to welcome our guests!

Want to volunteer for Vacation Bible School without having to do any prep work?

We have positions for both adults and youth, ages 5th grade and older! We are currently on the hunt for the following positions:
•    3K-5K guides, both adult and junior
•    1st-2nd grade guide, both adult and junior
•    3rd-4th grade guide, both adult and junior
•    Nursery worker

The guides follow each class of students as they move from station to station, helping them as needed. The nursery worker…well, he or she plays with the little ones while their parents are volunteering or attending Bible study.

To volunteer or sign up your child to participate, register at churchoftheresurrection.org.

"By the Sea" is the title of the Children's Annual Spring Musical to be presented on Sunday, May 13 at the 10 am service.

During the musical, three Seekers, each with her own special needs, will be looking for Jesus to heal them. In song and story, we will hear of several incidents from the life of Jesus that took place along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. This year's musical includes an inter-generational cast! We hope you will be able to join us for this special day.

Thanks -
