Hi there, welcome to the latest update from PGG Wrightson.
If you haven’t heard about PGG Wrightson’s Go Products, read on to learn more about this opportunity for sheep and beef farmers. We also look back at livestock sale successes in April and the bull sale season ahead for May.
Plus preparations are well underway for Fieldays® 50th anniversary celebrations in June and PGG Wrighston is excited to be returning for 2018 – more details to come soon.
Go products provides flexibility
The Go products are a supply chain product for cattle and sheep owned by PGG Wrightson. PGW National Livestock Supply Chain Manager Jamie Molloy who developed and manages the Go products scheme explains, “Farmers need to be agile as market prices and climatic conditions can change quickly. The timing of Go products are flexible and our customers can use them to suit their own farming operation, for example, farmers typically hold the sheep (Go-Lamb™) for up to four months and cattle (Go-Beef™) for up to 12 months."
PGG Wrightson Livestock auctioneers were in action looking for bids at the Nokomai Station lamb sale in Northern Southland on 18 April. Halfbred lamb sales are a rarity in Southland, so the on-farm sale attracted a strong gallery of buyers from Otago and Canterbury.
PGG Wrightson Livestock National Video Sale – 14 May
The PGG Wrightson Livestock National Video Sale (Stud Bull Sale) is the premier sale of beef genetics in NZ, bringing together the best Hereford, Angus and Shorthorn bulls from around the country. The sale will take place on Monday 14 May from 4pm at the Palmerston North Convention Centre.
