Have your say on ALR

Submit your ideas about the future of the Agricultural Land Reserve by April 30.

The BC government has established an independent committee to lead a public engagement process and provide recommendations to the government on how to revitalize the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR)  and the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC).

The ALR and ALC are the land protection mechanism and advisory commission that were set up in the 1970's to protect BC farm land from development pressure.

Much has happened in recent decades and an update to the ALR/ALC is needed to ensure farm and food lands can remain in production and new farmers can access land for agricultural use.

Food and the viability of our farmland is vitally important for our long term food security.

The deadline for submissions is Monday April 30, so don't delay.
