Training opportunities in May...

Starting from Scratch, 2nd May 7:00 - 9:30pm at the Old Palace, Worcester

Help! we have no children or young people! Where do we start? How do we grow our small group? We have lots of resources, ideas and plenty of opportunity to ask questions to get your children's and youth ministry off the ground. You'll be provided with a pack of materials to help with reviewing your children's and youth ministry, redefine vision and aims, ideas to get you started and everything you need in terms of safer recruitment.

20th June, Birmingham

On 20th June, we will gather together for our second Chaplaincy Central conference. The focus of the day is ‘thriving not surviving’, and each seminar and workshop focuses on how we as Chaplains (whether voluntary or paid, full or part-time) and our school communities can thrive despite the challenges we may face. The day will be packed full of seminars and practical workshops, exploring themes such as ‘Responding to Tragedy’, ‘Mental Health’ and ‘Chaplaincy on a shoestring' plus many more! Whether you are a primary, secondary or FE Chaplain, there is something for everyone!
We will be joined by a number of national organisations who will be available throughout the day there to share expertise and there will be a number of resources available for you to purchase on the day. It promises to be a fantastic day that encourages and equips. We hope to see you there!

New Resources...

Resource Vault: Advice for young people.
The children's society have gathered an invaluable resource for supporting children's emotional and mental health. Click on the link above for age-appropriate resources on a whole range of issues.
If you're a fan of Andrew Root's book 'Faith Formation in a secular age' then you might be interested in listening to the author being interviewed via this podcast. Skip to 15 minutes in to hear the author in conversation - it's quite American in places, but there is lots of resonance with youth ministry here too.
