Headteacher's message...

Assalaamu alaykum,

In the next few weeks we will be graced with the blessed month of Ramadan. May it be filled with deeds that bring us closer to Him SWT. May this month be a cause of attaining Allah SWT's mercy and pleasure, freedom from the Hellfire and entry into Jannah, Ameen.

NOTICES
 
May Day Bank Holiday: Please remember that Monday 7th May 2018 is a bank holiday and therefore school will be closed.School will resume as per normal the following day.
 
Ramadan Timings: During Ramadan, school timings will change slightly. The school doors will open at 8:30am, however, registration will begin at 9:00am. School will finish, as per normal, at 3pm. There will be no after-school clubs or boosters during Ramadan either.
Last day of after-school clubs and boosters: Friday 11th May 2018
STAR PUPIL OF THE MONTH

Safa Haj-Yousif, Year 7: For her good akhlaaq and achievement in Geography

Taqiyah Amjad, Year 8: For winning a Maths debate and swaying the whole class' opinion to her argument.

Rozana Mokhtari, Year 9: For constantly working hard and helping others in Arabic 

Fatima Patel, Year 10: For her hard work and great akhlaaq in RE

Ameera Rashid, Year 11: For challenging herself in Maths and developing independent study skills.

Year 7 Parents Consultation Day: Monday 18th June 2018 (1:30pm - 4:00pm)
Year 8 Parents Consultation Day: Thursday 21st June 2018 (1:30pm - 4:00pm)
Year 9&10 Parents Consultation Day: Wednesday 27th June (1:30pm - 4:30pm)
UPCOMING SCHOOL TRIPS TO THE BRITISH LIBRARY

School trips have been arranged for Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 to the British Library, where they will take part in two workshops, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. There is no cost for this trip. Students should arrive to school at the usual time by 8:30am as they will leave at 9:00am. 
The second workshop will finish at 2:30pm and so students should leave from there by 2:45pm, and insha'Allah arrive back at school around 3:30pm.
Please note that different classes are attending on different days, and they are as follows:
Year 7: Tuesday 1st May 2018
Year 8 and 9: Wednesday 2nd May 2018
Year 10: Wednesday 9th May 2018
Further information can be found on the letter that was given to your daughter to give to you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Year 9 went to Seabrooke Manor Care Home (Ilford) last month to visit the residents who live there. They sat with them, talkd to them about their lives and read to them. Here Zainab, Isha, Rozana, Halima and Mominah are reading from Michael Morpurgo's War Horse.
Fundraising in Ramadan
Insha'Allah we will be fundraising during Ramadan for our school. The money will go towards replacing our current computers with new ones, installing AC units in our upstairs classrooms and buying interactive smartboards for more classrooms. Insha'Allah we hope that this will also help to keep the school fees low.
Margeret Hodge MP visit to Lady Aisha Academy
On Friday 20th April, Margaret Hodge MP for Barking and Dagenham came to visit Lady Aisha Academy. She had a tour of the school, and met all the classes breifly. She then held a Q&A session and spoke about her life and journey as a female MP with Year 10 and Year 11 students.

Hadith Qudsi: 'I am as My servant thinks (expects) I am. I am with him when he mentions Me.If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself; and if he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly greater than it. If he draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to him an arm’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.'
