A House and a Home
We have made progress on the new staff house here on camp. Most days, after school in the morning, Danny and the boys tackle the job for that day. Maybe you have seen pictures on Facebook? First, we cleared the site, then built and filled footings, poured the slab, and now we can go up with the framing.
Before and during the building process, we put much thought into the design and desired materials. We have weighed costs and hunted down materials (not everything is online or convenient here). We have tried to balance function, cost, and durability. Sometimes we know a material may be better to build with, but because of cost, we have had to settle for good and not best; all the while knowing that decay and time will one day undo all that is done. That is part of life.
We REJOICE knowing that Christ is preparing a place for us (John 14:3) and that our future home is not based on our ability, or strength, or resources. We will dwell with Him forever in a home built not with seconds or "good enoughs", but only the best and incorruptible (Hebrews 11:10).

Almost two years ago to the day, we wrote about the shortest pastorate ever. We had begun what we expected to be a few years of ministry in the nearest church to us (Lican Bible Center Church), but the Lord provided a Chilean pastor and we moved on. Now two years later, we are once again taking on the responsibility of pastoring and preparing the church for a full time pastor.
We are also starting some leadership training meetings with a few of the other smaller country churches in the area. These will be monthly meetings on camp aimed at equipping current leaders and potential leaders for church ministry. The churches depend almost exclusively on lay leadership. The needs are many and we pray daily the Lord of the harvest send more laborers to help us in this ministry.
