Networking: 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM

We are thrilled to have Naomi Robert, of KPU's Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS) join us after the AGM.  She will discuss the recently published white paper she co-authored called Protection is not enough: Policy Precedents to Increase the Agricultural Use of BC's Farmland.

Naomi holds Master of Land and Water Systems from the University of British Columbia where she studied natural resource management in agriculture, and a B.Sc. from McGill University in Environmental Science.  Before joining the Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS), Naomi worked in the non-profit sectors of Quebec and British Columbia, where she coordinated various food system projects and environmental policy research. Naomi’s passion for connecting with the diverse components of our food system has brought her to work in urban agriculture gardens in Montreal, community kitchens, bicycle-powered farmers markets, Panamanian forests and one Costa Rican cocoa farm. As a member of the ISFS team, Naomi has worked to develop accessible policy tools to support planning practitioners and communities in advancing local food systems, including the BC Food System Policy Database. She is an Articling Agrologist, currently working towards the Professional Agrologist designation with the BC Institute of Agrologists.

Event generously supported by Kwantlen Street Market. Check out a rotating selection of vendors with local produce, SPCA Certified chicken and eggs, natural soap and body care products, gourmet chef products, spices, and hot sauces.
